FAITH: THE CENTRAL CIRCLE

The face at the very center of the painting was originally fully-skinned, but it didn't seem right to the artist so he sanded off the skin to "reveal" the bone beneath. The artists' false tooth is missing (yet another hole.) The clock face at the center has no arms, to indicate that death can come at any time.

Behind the artists' head is the New York landscape viewed from the Brooklyn Heights Promenade, near the artists' home, showing the Manhattan and Brooklyn Bridges. New York is shown epxloding, with a plane cashing. The world of the artist is falling apart. (This painting was created several years before 9/11)
